YOUR RECOVERY STARTING POINT
A plan built from your answers
Example: 4 months postpartum · Week 1 of 4Your timing makes postpartum shedding education useful. Your styling habits and available time shape the care steps we choose next.
Your answers organize the plan; they do not diagnose a condition. Sudden, painful, patchy, or continuing changes are gently directed to professional care.
WHO THIS PLAN WAS DESIGNED FOR
Designed first for Black mothers and the realities of textured-hair care after pregnancy.
Many postpartum hair resources explain shedding but do not account for the way we wash, moisturize, detangle, protect, and style our hair. This plan puts those real-life care needs at the center.
Your plan considers edge tension, scalp access, buildup, protective-style maintenance, and the way you actually wear your hair.
You receive clear steps you can manage at home, even when your time and energy are limited.
Hair care, meals, hydration, gentle movement, product suggestions, and progress support work together in one plan.
Who else can use it? Mothers of any background who share these hair textures or care needs are welcome. The recommendations were intentionally developed with Black women and our hair-care experiences at the center.
This plan provides education and practical support. It does not diagnose hair loss or replace care from a doctor, dermatologist, or other licensed healthcare professional.

MEET THE CREATOR

I created the support I needed after having my own children.
I’m Chanel E. Martin, founder of Her Beauty Regimen, a chemical engineer, and a serial beauty entrepreneur with nearly 15 years of experience in the hair industry. I’m also a co-founder of Myavana, creator of the first AI-powered hair analysis system.
After each of my four pregnancies, I experienced postpartum shedding and lost fullness around my edges. I remember trying to understand what was happening while caring for a new baby—and how difficult it was to find guidance that considered my hair, my body, and the realities of motherhood.
I created The Postpartum Hair Recovery Plan to give Black mothers practical, inside-out support made for us, by us. You may not always have time to visit the salon or sort through conflicting advice. This plan gives you a clearer, more realistic place to begin.
“Our hair is deeply connected to our identity, culture, creativity, and self-expression. When your hair feels good, it can help you feel more like yourself.”
How the plan was developed: Its educational guidance is informed by reputable postpartum-health, dermatology, nutrition, and hair-care sources. Safety boundaries direct answers that may require evaluation by a licensed medical professional rather than cosmetic or wellness guidance alone.
This program offers wellness and cosmetic hair-care guidance. It does not diagnose or treat medical conditions or promise regrowth in 30 days.
